Chained Isles
A breathtaking region of floating islands suspended between two skies, bound together by colossal iron chains and filled with ancient ruins, Citadels, and deadly mysteries.
Biography & Lore
The Chained Isles are a vast region of the Dream Realm composed of numerous islands floating high in the air. Gargantuan iron chains stretch between the islands, binding the shattered land together above the seemingly endless darkness of the Sky Below.
Each island possesses its own landscape and dangers. Some are covered in forests or fields, while others contain lakes, ancient ruins, ash, fire, or the remains of a forgotten civilization. Nightmare Creatures inhabit the region in abundance, making travel between the islands extremely dangerous.
The islands also undergo a deadly phenomenon known as the Crushing. As an island rises, the pressure upon its surface increases dramatically, forcing inhabitants to pay close attention to the movement and thunderous rattling of the chains.
Among the most important landmarks of the region are the Sanctuary of Noctis and the mysterious Ivory Tower, while the Hollow Mountains loom beyond its northern reaches.
